“ technology over technique produces emotionless design.”

The painstaking process of drawing quarter inch grids in my first year at St. Lawrence College taught me first and foremost that technique and discipline would always be at the core of my design. • 6 years as professor at the college level teaching in 2 schools, and 4 programs • 25+ years of experience as the Owner/Creative Director of my graphic design agency. • 16 years experience in a graphic design/printing environment. • 7 years of experience as an Art Director in publishing. • Supervisor and department head for junior designers and creative department. Currently in my 6th year as professor with St. Lawrence College in Kingston where I am teaching in the Advertising and Marketing and Digital Marketing Communications Programs and more specifically Digital Publishing, Career Preparation and Agency. I also teach in the Graphic Design and Media Arts Fundamentals programs in an array of courses. This has given me the opportunity to sharpen my skills and give back to the place where I was educated in Graphic Design.
As a former Senior Graphic Designer for Allan Graphics Ltd. and former Art Director for Kingston Publications, I have extensive knowledge and experience in design, layout, pre-press, production, and account management. I effectively communicate with co-workers, clients, photographers, imaging firms, various printers, as well as a range of production companies and strategic planners. In 1998 I started a graphic design company ‘youngdesigns’. As the Owner/Creative Director, I have been able to take on unique projects that give me the opportunity to continue to grow as a designer and keep up with current design trends and techniques. I have also had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients as well as other freelancers who specialize in their fields. RESUME.
